Why the bob haircut has stood the test of time.
We all know that hair trends come and go but for some reason, the bob has stood the test of time. We all know that trends get recycled and often forgotten about until an old Facebook photo gets resurfaced (yikes!) but the classic bob keeps on looking trendy and in style.
When it comes to hairstyles the bob is by far the one your hair loves the most. Maintaining a short bob is the healthiest way to make sure that your ends are freshened whilst helping your hair grow. The visuals of a bob haircut are amazing at showing the features of your face better than a lot of other haircuts. Sometimes long hair, as beautiful as it is, can sometimes drown out the features of your face. The classic bob also tends to make the face look more youthful and brings back a certain vibrancy to the face. We all know that it can be an intimidating thing to bite the bullet and cut off your precious locks but depending on what treatments your hair has gone through. For instance, if you’re a bleached babe (like myself) its sometimes the best to say goodbye to your ends and give them a break for a little bit.
Having fun with your hair colours is the best but when it comes to the easiest and healthiest way to keep your colour vibrant and your ends fresh the bob is often the way to go. The beauty of this hairstyle is that although it seems so simple and straight forward, there are so many different ways to style it. From a long bob that goes down to your shoulders to a short one that goes to your ears, there is always a bob haircut to suit anyone. The key to rocking it is making sure that it suits the features of your face, for instance making sure that you have some layers around the face will often soften the bob and make it look flattering.
When cutting a bob have fun with it and just go for it! The times have proven it’s a good look.
